About the owner
My mother is a tireless gardener. As a child I spent countless days with my hands in the soil with the guidance and direction of Mom. I was always engaged and inspired by the beauty and power of the natural world. I grew up in the trades doing carpentry, concrete and general engineering. I attended California Polytechnic, San Luis Obispo, receiving a bachelors in City & Regional Planning. Graduating at the height of economic recession as an idealistic environmentalist, I alternatively initiated a holistic waste management plan for a municipality in Nicaragua. An element of our recycling programming included reutilizing organic waste in our school gardens. Utilizing an indigenous method of farming as our educational platform, I began to pursue the study of permaculture and engage passionately with botany. Upon return to the United States, I began to work within both the landscape and sustainable agricultural field both in the office, design bay and in the field. Larkspur Landscapes is the accumulated synthesis of skill, passion, science and creativity cultivated throughout my life thus far.
